That anon is probably mad because the idea of an adoptable just doesn't make sense. You make the same character 10 times that are only different in color, then sell them off. It just seems....weird.

thefireboundmage answered:

Well, I’ve done adoptables before too, most of them were just one coloration of one character, but those adoptables are more personalized so they have to go by bidding.

These adoptables make it so that while there are a limited amount they aren’t super special “this is the only one” so i can sell them at a much lower and up front price. I mean…These still took me 17+ hours to do so it’s not like I’m putting in any less effort, I just want to be able to make multiple people happy.

Still, even if it was all you say….uh……why is this something to get angry about? Like…am I impeding their way of life or drawing something illegal? It’s like getting angry at someone for disliking something that you like, or liking something you don’t, it doesn’t make sense.

Well, it IS Tumblr. If people see something they even remotely have a dislike for, they tend to leap on it like a rabid Jaguar.

thefireboundmage answered:

I see that stigma a lot but I think that has more to do with the way the site works rather than the people that use it.

I don’t frequent many sites mind you, but as far as im aware tumblr is the only site that allows you to put other peoples content on your “page” and let everyone also following you see it with your own comment on it via reblogs, so that stuff is allowed to spread faster.

While other sites that probably have the same type of people, just have them more in a contained area. Ultimately this site’s greatest feature is also its greatest weakness because…well…it’s the internet. Luckily I havn’t run into to many of those issues and 99.999999% of my fanbase are like…the greatest people ever that i don’t deserve haha~<3

the-kinky-umbreon asked:

People tend to look down on adoptables because the majority of them are pretty generic and lazily designed I.E. a normal Umbreon, but with green rings and 2 toned eyes. Hell, if I recall, some artist on FA sold a dozen of the exact same lion king trace over last year, they were identical outside of their colors and patterns. Cases like that just fuel the hate against adoptables. I personally don't care for them, but I definitely don't consider people a sellout unless that's all they do.

thefireboundmage answered:

I understand, thats why I don’t do them that often, and even with these ones they all have different horns, genitals, some have boobs some don’t, expressions are different and even the hair is different. As stated before I did spend 17+ hours to make these more than just recolors and in order to get the money back i make with regular commissions by the hour i would have had to charge 30$ per minimum, especially with the full cg shading.

In other words i got less money from these for spending twice the effort…..sooooooooo….i dunno. People can think what they want I guess, I’ll continue doing what I want to do and what my fans want to see, I want to give all of you the best porn I can as thanks for your support!

yesterday i learned about a mythical creature called a squonk that lives in the hemlock forests of pennsylvania and is so ashamed of how it looks that it spends 80% of its time crying, only comes out at night, and if you corner it it will literally physically dissolve into a puddle of its own tears until you go away and if that’s not the most relatable thing i’ve ever heard idk what is
