Opal didn’t try to stop them, purring as she was pet.

*Another hand, slightly larger than the other, started petting her too.*

She purred, calming down.

???: I didn’t know that ponies could purr…

Opal wagged her tail, reaching out to feel the hands that were stroking her.

*The two men that were with her chuckled.*

???: Should we take her back upstairs?

Opal felt along the bone structure of their hands, feeling where the blood pumped through, and then creating a map of their veins and arteries. From there, she felt for joints, and then the tendons, located the muscles. Temperature, she could tell how much tissue was between their skin and muscle by using body temperature and the temperature of the room and the difference between them.

Opal felt for the door, and opened it, continuing to walk towards the source of the voices. She was feeling incredibly scared for some reason. Maybe it was because she was completely vulnerable, and she couldn’t call out for help if something got her.

Maud: …I think the door opened…

???: Shall I check?

Maud: Sure!

*She heard someone walk to the foot of the stairs and gasp.*

???: Oh my gosh she’s so CUTE!

Opal took a step towards the noise, but felt nothing under her hoof. Immediately her stomach lurched, her center of gravity making her fall forward down the stairs, screaming soundlessly.

???: EEK!!!

*Something caught her!*

???: Are you okay?

Opal continued panicking.

*He held her close to him, gently stroking her mane.*

???: It’s okay, I gotcha…

Opal tried to wriggle free from the unfamiliar voice’s grasp.

???: Oh gosh…

Maud: Hand her to me.

*Whoever he was, he gave her to Maud.*

Maud: Hey, Opal! It’s okay!

Opal curled up in a ball, shivering and crying noiselessly.

*Maud held her close and gently stroked her, cooing to her softly.*

Opal slowly calmed down, nuzzling Maud.

Maud: Yeah, just scared; she’s blind and mute…
