And give it a REAL proper final season? None of this rushed Season 3 bullcrap we got, instead.

Damn shame too cause Season 3 was shaping up to be really dark and awesome!
Well, we can thank Nickelodeon and their ever-lasting wisdom that we got such a rushed final season with half-baked ideas, negated interesting story arcs and character development left and right like it was going out of style, and just tuck to being a monster-of-the-week type of show on a regular basis.
It really is a shame, because Season 3 had the potential for being SO MUCH BIGGER AND BETTER than the whimper that we got.
Hell, they were gonna bring Dark Danny back. Probably their most serious villain outside of the Avatar universe.
And I remember Urban Jungle was gonna be MUCH bigger, even got its own game alongside Ultimate Enemy, but Nickelodeon execs butchered it into a watereddown rushed episode
It felt like it was trying to fit in a lot within a small time frame.
You’re acting as if the Nickelodeon executives wrote the season themselves. If I remember correctly, all Nick did was order a really short season and ultimately cancel the show, forcing the writers to wrap things a little too quickly. However, I think the writers themselves should share some of the blame. I recall season 3 being around the time Butch and his writing team started losing their touch. I think he had some kind of falling out with Steve Marmel (one of his best writers for DP and FOP) and his shows ultimately suffered for it because the new writers weren’t quite up to snuff.
I’d buy it.
Wasn’t this also around the time that Fairly OddParents was in its fifth season? Because… that would explain why THAT show started getting stale, and it wasn’t handicapped by such a short season.
Even then, Nickelodeon DOES deserve some of the blame- there was NO reason why they had to ultimately cancel the show. Nickelodeon is quick to cancel a show if it’s suffering from poor ratings, and Danny Phantom did NOT suffer from poor ratings. So… unless some behind-the-scenes shit happened between Hartman and the Nick execs at the time, it’s safe to say that NOBODY came out looking good.
