*She could hear unfamiliar voices down stairs…*

???: Ponies?

???: One like us???

Maud: Yep!

Opal felt for the door, and opened it, continuing to walk towards the source of the voices. She was feeling incredibly scared for some reason. Maybe it was because she was completely vulnerable, and she couldn’t call out for help if something got her.

Maud: …I think the door opened…

???: Shall I check?

Maud: Sure!

*She heard someone walk to the foot of the stairs and gasp.*

???: Oh my gosh she’s so CUTE!

Opal took a step towards the noise, but felt nothing under her hoof. Immediately her stomach lurched, her center of gravity making her fall forward down the stairs, screaming soundlessly.

*Something caught her!*

???: Are you okay?

Opal continued panicking.

Opal tried to wriggle free from the unfamiliar voice’s grasp.
