Meta Knight and the majority of his crew have made their way down to the galley for dinner. Each Knight and Waddle Dee collects a tray and heaps Dreamlandian delicacies onto his or her plate. All of them are starving after their various excursion that took place throughout that day, and what better place to wind down than a flying restaurant lined with windows to give a perfect view of the land below them?
Meta Knight, Captain Vul, and Sailor Dee have all taken their own table while they eat, blissfully unaware that the Halberd has a stowaway on board.
Hidden in a cargo bay was a small creature. It seemed to resemble a draconic. It had patches of bright chrome metal set into its body down its back, flanking either side of the short dull dorsal spines. The scales had a strange dull yellow-ish tint, almost like the first yellows of a sunrise. The underbelly had a brighter covering of cyan blue. Two swept back horns pointed back from the top of its head, curling ever so very slightly down at the tips. Its eyes appeared to be missing irises and pupils altogether, instead just a mesh of random gray grid-patterns. Its flexible prehensile tail had a sort of chevron/wedge at the tip. As to the tail itself, it was quite long, as long as the rest of its body. Currently, the draconic was curled up, looking ahead. It couldn’t see a thing other than the blinking and pulses of electrical currents. However, it was able to see itself in perfect detail, as if the “eyes” knew what organic matter accompanied its own neural signature. Waking up in a strange place with no memories was quite jarring for the draconic, so it remained still and silent. Watching the electrical transmissions of the ship, it could guess what it was doing, which was holding steady at an altitude unknown to the draconic.
“And I said: if you fought as extravagantly as you boasted about your abilities, then you’d have taken over Dreamland long ago!”
Meta Knight pauses in his story to revel in the laughter of his crew-mates. Captain Vul is nearly in stitches while Sailor Dee can hardly contain herself. Meta Knight climbs onto the table and draws his sword.
“That’s when I lunged forward and crossed blades with him! Let me tell you, that was one of the shortest battles I have ever engaged in. He fled like a frightened mouse the moment I sliced part of his tail off!”
While the galley delights in Meta Knight’s tale, a few of the Waddle Dees still on patrol enter the cargo bay to check up on supplies.
The draconic saw new organic neural signatures enter the room. It remained as silent as possible, hoping to be overlooked.
