“It means 1.” He answered, using binary lingo.

He nodded. “1” He said.

“01.” Meemya tried.
“Z-er-o…?”
Meemya tapped his chin. He really thought that binary would work. “Number 0, then 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, then 5, then 6, then 7, then 8, then 9, then 1 - 0: ten.” He said, counting them off with his wings to illustrate. He was curious if she knew numbers. If not, then something serious had happened to the memory systems.
She couldn’t keep track and just stared at him.
Meemya sighed, and said, “Follow.” He made a gesture to match the gentle command, smiling reassuringly.
